A few years ago I made a list of the top travel blogs using Comment Luv. When I released the list in 2013 I was using it as part of my link building efforts for my website. Every week I’d scroll through 50 odd websites leaving comments at the bottom of blog posts. Starting out online I felt it was a simple and effective way to increase traffic to the website.

Of course it was a rubbish idea. From all of those comments I left I was lucky if I got more than 3 or 4 clicks to the site. It was a waste of my time. The stupid thing is I ever thought it would work… Truth is leaving comments at the bottom of a blog post adds little value. It’s a terrible form of networking.

If you want to get in touch with someone just reach out, say hi and be genuine across different social media. As for backlinks; well the links you get from Comment Luv offer minimal benefits in terms of your backlink profile. You’re better off spending your time writing a good guest post for somebody’s site where you’re content is front and center in front of the audience you are actually targeting.

So I’ve deleted the list of sites using Comment Luv (no worries, I’m glad I saved you some time). Instead of focusing on something that doesn’t let me share you a tactic I’m using that gets you some actual results; Pinterest. Check out the link and copy the exact tactics I’m using to get 100+ clicks to my website every day.
