“Winter is coming.” At least that appears to be the phrase of the day as the new Game of Thrones series hits the TV screens. Thankfully however, winter has already been and gone. The biting cold that swept the US Mid-West and the floods that inundated the South West of England are now a distant memory. Spring is coming and it means longer days, more sunshine and a chance to enjoy the boundless beauty of nature.
To celebrate the arrival of a new season, North Face has launched it’s Spring campaign (you can watch the video above). If you are feeling lethargic, the campaign should be just the inspiration that you need to get out of the house and explore the area around where you live. Win prizes for taking great photos using the hastag #longerdays and share your experiences with your friends. It’s time to enjoy the the big wide world. So with those words in mind, here are a few of my very own spring resolutions. Here’s how I plan to enjoy my #longerdays:
Go camping
I have a love hate relationship with nature. I enjoy looking at it, taking photos of beautiful landscapes and hiking along muddy trails. I don’t like camping in it and have always preferred a down mattress to the lumpy ground. However, at least once this spring I will go camping, because there is no better way to start the day than being surrounded by the big wide world and making that first hot cup of tea to warm your body.
Go Rock Climbing
Rock climbing, abseiling down a waterfall and just generally having a crazy time; this spring I’m going to treat myself to a weekend of adventure sport. There’s really no excuse not to do this, I know for a fact that I won’t regret it the next day.
I’ll be honest, I’m looking forwards to the rock climbing far more than the camping, but that’s not really the point, the important thing is just getting out and about and appreciating nature when the opportunity presents itself. If you want to keep up to date with what people are doing this spring and get the chance to win daily prizes, check out the North Face Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages.
