If you and your loved one are planning a short break then perhaps you want to choose a destination that will fan the flames of your romance. Whether you like things classically romantic or a little more risqué, here are some of the activities you could enjoy on two of the most romantic European city breaks. And if you’re still looking for more ideas, you can always consult the Expedia Passion Maps.
Passion in Paris
Paris has a magical charm that has earned it a place in popular culture as one of the most romantic cities in the world. Gazing out from the top of the Eiffel tower and sipping red wine in candlelit restaurants on the banks of the Seine are must-dos for couples who want to enjoy a classic Parisian break. There is also, however, a risqué side to Paris that has grown up around bohemian, liberal entertainment houses such as the Moulin Rouge. These days Le Crazy Horse is creating a buzz with its provocative yet tastefully choreographed cabaret shows. Other notable venues include La Lido, the largest cabaret in Paris where you can enjoy a gourmet meal with the show, and La Lapin Agile where you can experience an authentic slice of historic Montmartre bohemia.
Courting in Berlin
Germany’s capital is culture-rich and stylish with its impressive museums, vibrant music scene and world-class art galleries. There’s certainly plenty of fodder for those seeking romance, with a stroll through the opulent chambers of Charlottenburg Palace or picnic in the grounds of Schloss Sanssouci being two of the most swoon-worthy activities. For those seeking something more risqué Berlin certainly delivers. The Kleine Nachtrevue is one of the most famous burlesque venues in the city, thanks to its stylish 1930s vibe. For something even more risqué you can head to the Beate Uhse Erotic Museum, one of the best of its kind in Europe. The museum houses collections of European and Asian erotic art and provocative costumes.
Travel encounters with that added excitement are easy to come by in Europe; and Paris and Berlin are just two of the destinations you could explore.
