If you’re planning a low-cost summer escape, there are several destinations that might keep cropping up on your holiday searches. You’re likely to see cheap holidays to Turkey among them, which is handy for anyone who fancies a scorching escape with lashings of sun, sea and sand. But just because the cost of holidaying in Turkey might be low, that doesn’t mean your holiday experience will be the same. Far from it.
For starters, the cost of living in Turkey is often cheaper than most other European holiday destinations. That’s because Turkey has not yet joined the Euro, and still operates with its own Turkish Lira. Of course the exact pound-to-lira ratio fluctuates constantly, but you can often enjoy a lower cost of living that makes eating out and enjoying the local attractions much more attainable. It’s worth getting off the tourist trail now and again. Not only is it cheaper to dine out in less touristy locations, it also offers a more authentic experience and a chance to experience the ‘real’ Turkey.
As for finding cheap holidays to Turkey, all the big-name tour operators have a wide range of Turkey holidays on offer which means competition is high – and that helps to drive down prices. The great thing is, Turkey is a vast country and there’s always a great choice of resorts to choose from. Whether you’re after a clubbing holiday, a rural retreat, a family escape or a romantic honeymoon, there’s plenty of superb resorts on offer and a long list of quality, approved hotels too.
You shold stay away from Istanbul if you want a cheaper life in Turkey. Bursa, Izmir, Ankara could be better choices.
